INFOCIMA Nº 49 – JANUARY 2025

The Smile of the Month:
Radamel Sanchez
Hello, my name is Radamel and I am 13 years old. I came to CIMA because I didn’t obey my parents and spent too much time on my cellphone. At first, I was well-behaved, but then my behavior became really difficult. Fortunately, I am improving a lot thanks to the support of my tutors because they help me and teach me important life values. At CIMA, I have learned many essential things for my personal growth. Now I know how to make my bed, eat properly, wash my utensils, fulfill my tasks, keep my space clean and live better with my colleagues. The tutor Milagros guides me with very valuable teachings, and that motivates me to strive every day, to be a better person. I am improving in my studies as well, with the help of my teacher who helps with self-confidence. From the bottom of my heart, I thank Father Jean-Louis and all those who support me at CIMA. I am happy to be here because every day I learn something new that helps me grow and improve.

Testimony of ExCIMA: Enrique Ungaro
Hello, my name is Enrique. Today I went to the Don Bosco home where a soccer championship was organized. To my surprise, CIMA was also invited. While I was talking with the boys, many memories of my time at CIMA came to mind, very beautiful memories. I remembered my tutors, teachers and everything I experienced there. I’m happy to hear that everything is still going well. I have a deep affection for CIMA because thanks to this place, I did not end up on the wrong path. Today I have a good job, I’m doing well and have a stable and happy life. I owe all this to Father Jean-Louis and the people who supported me. Thank you for the wake-up calls, for the corrections, for having allowed me to go back to CIMA so many times. Thank you for your infinite patience with me. Life is hard when you don’t have family, and that’s why I miss CIMA. Sometimes, I meet former colleagues on the street and others have not been so lucky. Perhaps, if we all took better advantage of what CIMA offered us, we would be better off today. I didn’t take advantage of it 100% but at least I am calm and feel very proud to have been part of CIMA. I will never forget the moments lived, such as the game of “dog bone” that Father Jean-Louis did; the CIMA anthem; the workshops, especially the farm with Professor Sebastián; the meals prepared with love by the chefs; the walks to Pampa Tinajas… Father Jean-Louis, you know that I have great affection for you and will always be grateful to you. I don’t know how to thank everyone for what they did for me. CIMA was my family for a long time, and I will always carry those memories in my heart.

Testimonial of an Educator: Cintya Mishele
I am 28 years old and graduated with a career in ecology. Currently, I work as a tutor at CIMA, living an experience that, without a doubt, is one of the most rewarding and challenging of my life. This is because of the different situations and emotions that are experienced at CIMA on a daily basis. I am grateful to those who gave me the opportunity to be part of this great team of extraordinary human beings. CIMA employees are people who work with effort and dedication; they guarantee the well-being, protection and care of minors. From day one, I received the support of the entire CIMA team, which allows me to continue learning and growing, both professionally and personally. Every day I confirm that teamwork is essential to obtain positive results. The collaboration and support of families reinforces our work and allows the development of children, so they are more efficient. I have also learned that our greatest motivation in life is God: we are grateful every day for the opportunity to live, for the food that reaches our table, and for the support of so many individuals, organizations and companies that contribute so that CIMA continues to stand and grow. God shows us His miracle in many ways: in the children who arrive and those who graduate; the children who, over time, carry CIMA in their hearts. Hope, love, faith, and discipline are values that will always accompany you, no matter what path you take in life.

Summer at CIMA: Learning, Fun and Adventures!
At CIMA, the months of January and February are a perfect opportunity for our children to enjoy their school holidays in an enriching and fun way. In the morning, children participate in various workshops where they develop practical and creative skills. In the afternoon, they have the freedom to explore new outdoor spots, enjoy walks, and cool off in the river close to CIMA. In addition, we organize sports and recreational activities that encourage teamwork, discipline and fun. We also have frequent visits of volunteers, and organizations, who each bring with them new experiences and learning for our children. This time of rest becomes a stage of growth, exploration and coexistence, reinforcing the values that we promote at CIMA. We continue to create unforgettable memories and life-transforming experiences!

- With great joy, we celebrate one more year of the life of Father Jean-Louis, founder of CIMA. It was a day full of gratitude and affection, where the boys and the team shared a special moment to honor Father Jean-Louis’ dedication. We wish him every health and blessings.
- We are proud to share that an Ex-CIMA, Pedro Rea, was the winner of the first place in the training offered by Jardines de la Paz company: his effort and commitment are an example of self-improvement. Congratulations, Pedro! Your dedication inspires us to continue to believe in second chances.
- The CIMA boys enjoyed an exciting morning of sport at the Cueto La Rosa Football Academy. We thank Mr. Guillermo La Rosa and his team for allowing our young kids to participate in this unforgettable day.
- We are grateful for the visit of a former German volunteer. Luigi, who recently got married, visited us on his honeymoon with his wife and our friend Jürgen Heppe. We were very happy to see Luigi again after several years, and thank him for his significant donation of school supplies.
