The CIMA team consists of:

  • 1 Director: Manages the home within the local context and coordinates activities and the smooth operation of the home, working closely with the coordinator and administrator.
  • 1 Administrator: Responsible for administrative management, coordinating staff actions, and ensuring logistical resources for the home’s development and smooth functioning.
  • 1 Coordinator: Works with the educational staff (tutors, teachers, psychologists, social workers, and nurse) to coordinate activities directly involving the education of the children and adolescents.
  • 13 Tutors (2 per pavilion on a 48-hour rotation): Responsible for the children’s education in the pavilions and serve as their key contacts. They take the children to school and also follow up with teachers.
  • 13 Teachers: This includes 3 leveling teachers, 2 teachers from the Center for Alternative Basic Education (CEBA), and 8 workshop teachers (covering subjects such as farming, carpentry, sewing and crafts, fabric painting, music, hydroponics, technical initiation, and computing).
  • 3 Psychologists: Establish the psychological profile and conduct initial psychological interventions upon the children’s entry. They provide recommendations to the team and conduct individual and group therapy sessions (once a week per pavilion). They also interview and hold training workshops for parents, organize staff training, and assist with daily case management within the home.
  • 3 Social Workers: Monitor the socio-economic and family situation of the children. Their goal is to strengthen family and social supports to facilitate the future reintegration of the children and adolescents.
  • 1 Nurse: Assesses the physical health of children and adolescents upon entry and monitors their health throughout their stay at the home. Coordinates with the local medical post and/or hospital, takes the children to appointments, and organizes educational talks on basic hygiene principles, health care, and sexuality.
  • 1 Dentist: Visits one day a week to attend to the children’s dental needs.
  • Other daily services: Includes kitchen staff, laundry staff, driver, and night watchman.
  • Volunteers: CIMA frequently welcomes volunteers recommended by partner associations in France, Germany, Canada, or other countries, for varying periods (from a few days to several months). CIMA also hosts groups of foreign students.
