INFOCIMA Nº 29 MAY 2023

The smile of the month:

Diego Maldonado

Hello my name is Diego. I am 13 years old and I live at CIMA in the C3 house. I arrived at CIMA because I went out a lot and didn’t go to school. Instead, I used to go out with my friends to play football and didn’t obey my parents. At CIMA, I learned a lot of good things, and really like to play sports. In the music workshop, I play the guitar. At school, I do very well now, and learned to make friends. When I grow up I would like to be a soccer player. I thank God, Father Jean-Louis, the tutors and teachers for supporting me.

Testimony of Ex-CIMA: Juan Camacho

Hello my dear home CIMA: I am talking about Father Jean-Louis and all the staff. To the children of CIMA, with great affection I say: I was one of you. Take advantage of everything that the home offers you, because it is given to you with a lot of love.  Enjoy your stay at CIMA and learn as much as you can, because you will learn to deal with life, and “life is hard.” I had good jobs thanks to the fact that I lived at CIMA, helped by good values that I learned there, especially self-love: it helps not to feel marginalized. CIMA was a great learning place. Despite my problems, I never backed  down, and instead, kept on going forward. Now, I am an artist and publish on Youtube, where I am known as “Jesal”, my stage name. I composed a song called “Zhiquito mc”. I love you all, you live in my heart and I will see you soon, God permitting.

Testimony of a collaborator: Milagros Denegri

Hello, my name is Milagros Denegri. I have been collaborating at CIMA for two years as an educator, and am in charge of children aged 9 to 12. While at CIMA, I have been fortunate to share with the children, listen to them, understand them, teach them to live in love, with strong values and discipline. I am a responsible educator, very dedicated to all children. I am always attentive to meet every one of their needs. It is a very nice experience, although at first it was not so easy for me. I will always work with children, seeking to motivate them with love. Each of them has a unique personality. They are children who give me joy, hugs and kisses; And they do it very spontaneously. Thank you CIMA for trusting me, and to Father Jean Louis for giving me the opportunity of working by giving my love to the children.

Workshops and various activities:

Maintenance and landscaping of green areas

This activity is developed by the children under the supervision of Professor Sebastián. In this workshop children learn: – The importance of ongoing maintenance of the gardens, the sports courts planted with grass, the pruning of trees and shrubs, using the appropriate gardening tools. – Time of year when pruning takes place, cutting grass, plants and maintaining flower beds. The experience of learning these tasks allowed several former CIMA kids to become landscapers, or work in gardening.

News:

CIMA celebrated Labor Day by recognizing the excellent work of the home staff. We shared a lunch of friendship, and gifts were given to all collaborators. It was a very special meeting

CIMA celebrated Mother’s Day with an afternoon of talents, when children showed their skills during singing and musical events. During this occasion, mothers who work at CIMA were recognized with gifts.

We received the visit of the parish priest of Cieneguilla on three occasions, accompanied by friends who brought important donations.

This month we are pursuing the health program: doctors give all children a general checkup, who also receive vaccinations and dental treatment.

This month we also started catechesis in collaboration with the Catholic community.

Enrique Palomino, a former CIMA, visited us. He now works for the town of Cieneguilla, and is activate with the food donation program.
